That everyone is capable of doing the same practices. Ignoring the fact that we have different needs. Traditional yoga didn’t involve group classes. Originally Yoga was tailored to the individual. Taught one on one. Based on their specific needs and life circumstances. In fact, postures didn't exist at all. And most of today's yoga poses are modern. Yoga practices are like penicillin. Perhaps medicine for your, but poison for someone else and vice versa. Most yoga students aren't aware of this. Especially in the way our anatomy is different. Which will make certain yoga poses easy and others hard or just plain impossible. But will be completely different for someone else. This can disempower many students by making them think that there is something 'wrong with them' if a practice is not accessible. Especially if the student next door grasps the practice quickly. Going out of the class feeling worse than they did before on an emotional, physical and/or mental level.
Studios are closing, due to the current economic climate. Access Is becoming scarce and expensive. Opportunities for in-person classes are shrinking.
